Welcome to Mauriceville School's Website

We are a small rural school with two teachers, including the principal and one part-time teacher. Our open plan classroom allows us to balance structured learning times, buddy learning, and whole class activities. Our school culture is underpinned by a set of values developed in consultation with our local community. These are our PRIDE values – Proud, Respect, Integrity, Determined and Engaged – which guide the way we learn, play, and interact each day.

Students are drawn from our local area, and we offer a stunning country learning environment that reflects the strengths and character of our community. We are proud to be both a Garden to Table school and an EnviroSchool, embedding sustainable practices and hands-on learning into our daily routines. Wherever possible, we integrate learning across curriculum areas, connecting classroom programmes with real-world contexts.

We ensure a balance of structured learning time with opportunities for collaboration, creativity, and student-led exploration. Strong, positive relationships with students, parents, wh?nau, and the wider community are at the heart of who we are and what we do.
